Carolyn Blaylock

Carolyn Blaylock's art celebrates Southern life. She is inspired by its landscapes, architecture and people of all ages. Her compositions invite the viewer to enjoy the beauty and emotions that are at the heart of Southern culture.

Carolyn works in both oil paint and soft pastels, applying layers of color, placing varying temperatures of the same hue side by side. "The majority of my work is large because, as I work, I feel as if I am actually on the street or in the garden."

Carolyn has no memory of not creating. After earning a BFA degree from the University of Georgia, Carolyn made the decision to give fine art painting her full attention. Her paintings are now part of a number of private and corporate collections including the National Arts Gallery and Wake Forest University.
